Although Kilkenny does not have its own third level institution, the Kilkenny Campus of National University of Ireland (NUI) Maynooth offers a wide range of third level courses from Certificate to Degree level. Details of courses on offer are listed in this A to Z section. The surrounding counties of Carlow, Tipperary and Waterford have third level institutions, so if you have the time and means to travel, then there are endless choices of Third Level courses.

Tipperary Institute
With campuses in Thurles and Clonmel, Tipperary Institute offers full-time courses to Honours Degree level in a wide range of disciplines from Business, Marketing and Accounting and Finance to Creative Multimedia, IT Support, Games Design and Software Development.  The rapidly evolving social and environmental sectors are also well provided for with Honours Degrees in Environmental and Natural Resource Management, Smart Sustainable Energy and Social and Community Studies.
 
The delivery of part-time and evening courses is another important feature of the Institute’s academic programme, specifically catering for people in full-time employment and a variety of part-time and evening study options are offered in Accounting Technician Studies, Marketing, Management, Languages, Renewable Energy, Life Coaching, Adlerian Psychology and Counselling Skills, and Cisco Academy Professional courses.
